Hi to everyone
Wasn't Saturday a lovely day? Well it was in this neck of the woods anyway. So what better thing to do than go and wake the Bambi from her resting place and give it little spin.
I don't know what it's like in your house everyones circumstances vary i know but for us we have three children (well no i don't suppose we do really) we have 2 young adults ages of 22 and 18 and a 6 year old. Two girls and a boy respectively.
So on Saturday morning having finally roused the two oldest ones from a killer attack of the duvet that they'd both been battling against we sat down to breakfast (11.15am)
We are going to take the Bambi out for a spin i announced (no discernable reaction at all from the older two) but howls of excitement from the boy YEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
So where do you think we should go then?? FRANCE LETS GO TO FRANCE he shouted After explaining that it was now nearly lunchtime and France might be a touch too far, and take a little while to long to get to, the boys' enthusiam had waned a little and the excited shouts gave way rapidly to tears and a heartbroken sob "i only want to go to France you never let me go there or anywhere why cant we go to ~France dad Please please please
Eventually i persuaded him France was just out of the question at this time of the day (we didn't even have passports as it turned out) and cajoled him into making a second choice. So, the question then Dot (nickname) is, as we can't go to France where else would you like to go Uh Uhm Uhhhh .........................................Uh well uhm to the park then ;D ;D ;D The Park? says i questioningly. Yeah the park he says we haven't been there all week.
You can see where this is going can't you? The park in question is about 200 yards from our back door and we had been there in the week too No darling you don't understand we want to go out in the Bambi for a .....................................So we can't go to the park either then?? Well no because .............Waaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Going well isn't it? Its now 12;10.
Many tears much shouting and arguing later we decided we would go to "A" park not "THE" park but "A" park and this seemed to placate the boy. So off we set for Cutteslowe park on the A40 in Oxford. It had been a good month since the Bambi had turned a wheel but she started up first turn of the key and, as has become expected performed faultlessly. When parked up in Cutteslowe we put the Kettle on and basked in the admiring glances and comments of the many passers by, everone seems to love the Bambi. One person was really keen said he had never seen one before but wanted one now, so he now plans to become one of the bambi owning fraternity this Summer ( if we get a summer).
A fantastic day was had by all Only around 55 miles covered but its not all about pounding the tarmac is it. On the way back to storage we stopped of at the pear tree services for a KFC. Ah does life get any better than this?
Roll on spring and summer we plan to put some miles on the clock this year
Regards
Andy
