Hi Guys and dolls.
Not sure if im in the right area for this topic but here goes.
It looks like after a long search I shall be picking up a Bambi on Sunday. I have looked for insurance and beside real silly figures like 5 to 700 the best quote so far is from Sage. Fully comp. 2 to 3,000 miles a year. For £178.69 and to include Motor home assistance which covers all the AA covers for breakdown and relay, that’s an extra £71.95 bring the total to £250.64. Do you all feel this is a good deal or do your insurers do it cheaper? Love to know your veiws before the week-end.

That's quite a good deal, IMHO. I have personal breakdown cover for myself and Doreen attached to a policy on one of the fleet (the same cover, with the same people, Britannia Rescue would have been £70) that covers both of us, no matter which car we are driving, or happen to be a passenger in.
We are with Lancaster Insurance, and for around the premium you have been quoted, we have an agreed value of £5k, should Bambi go walkabout, or be written off.

Hi Deerie
With Saga the drawback is that you will find after your 1st year the AA membership reverts to their usual prices and each of their 4 sections are charged for depending on how many you feel that you need.

I chose HIC insurance (part of liverpool victoria group) on classic camper insurance.
Fully comp - 4000miles limited mileage and European cover for £210
(last year was £170 , why increased??? I dont know)
I think still a good deal as did not use any no claims bonus on opening the policy.

When I had my Bambi I was insured through Safe Guard UK it was 6000miles, AA cover uk and abroad fully comp and it cost me some thing like £195 per year with max no claims. It was a very good firm and I was treated well when my first Bambi got hit by an idiot in Asda car park and that is why I am still with them with my new motor home. Bambiowner
