Well for 18 years my wife and I have lived in a four bed roomed house that we converted into a three bed roomed house, I have a very large garage (which I built most of) it measures 35 feet by 18 feet and its 10feet high at the lowest and 13feet high at the highest. I used to keep Bambi in here as well as my car and trailer and all sorts of other things.Any way moving on I have MS as well as I have had one kidney removed because of the big C and I am now an old man of 57 so I think that it is time to sell up and move on. So my wife and I are going to buy an apartment and then travel around the country and Europe in our motorhome and by doing this we will be able to stay away longer we usually spend the winter in Tunisia but due to the trouble out there the FO brought us home early, any way I am rambling on now.Because we have decided to move we have started to have a sort out and you would be surprised what I have got, because I like to cook I have enough cooking implements to open a shop cake tins and knifes and all manner or other devises which I will be getting rid of at a boot sale in my local area in the garage well where do I start I have jacks and spanners (I was never trained how to use a spanner) I am the sort of person who would rather pay some body to do it for me than try to do some thing that I am not completely competent at, now in my study I have every Bambi Tales from, 1997/8 right up to 2010 what should I do with them should I keep them should I sell them or should I burn them at stick pins in some rag dolls or should I give them to a museum some where? Pat's having a field day she has wanted me to down size my stuff for years I also have three stationary engines which I used to show at steam rallies but due to my health I am no longer to do the show thing any longer.I have been in my study all afternoon sorting out things and I have got 8 boxes for the boot sale and one to keep and take with me I own three computer printers and all manner of other stuff and all this sorting out is making me wish that I was away in my motorhome wild camping some where fishing for my supper.

Even though you may not be too keen on some of them maybe check with the BOC to see if they,ve got a complete set for their archives?

I do not know how long you have been a member of the BOC but I was in it for over 12 years always working hard to make the club a better club and I was even a organizer for three years for the south west because no one else would do it. But I now have no feeling for the club at all because certain things were done by certain members that have made a mockery f the club and its rule book and that is why a lot of the good people are leaving the club and starting up little gatherings of their own.

Hi Steve
How big are these engines Steve. I am not as blessed with space as you but i do like the sound of them(even though my wife will kill me) How much floor space will they eat? Agree with you wholeheartedly about the BOC utter waste of time.
Regards Andy

Wish I had a garage like yours. My Bambi is up the side of the house, it's a 30's semi built when cars were much thinner, so there's about 3 inches spare either side (and she won't go past the soil pipe to get to the garage) So I park it, and have to crawl over the seats into the back and get out of the back door, hence now on a diet... Still, when the kids leave home she might get a spot on the drive at the front

Hi Andy, I have three stationary engines, all are about three feet by two feet. They are all Villiars mk12's 1.2hp side valve engines One is fitted with an Alcon Water pump one is fitted with a Simplite Sludge pump which pumps 3000 gallon and hour and the last is fitted with a genorator set and was used by the fire service all are aged between 1955 and 1963 all work but they need a little tarting up before showing this year, I will miss the shows because there are some great folk at these events and of course if you show an engine you get in for nothing and get a plaque at the end of the show. I am asking £135 for all three engins I want them to go as a job lot. Bambiowner

Hi, The generator set sounds like the AFS 110v sets which would be brill for me but as you want them to go as a job lot I'll go for the three and if Andy wants one as well he'll have a choice of either of the pumps. Is that ok for you?
Claire, PS I've only been a BOC member for about 6 months

Hi Steve and Andy
Andy, I'm only interested in the Genny and if you would like the other two that would be grand from my point of view as it saves me from having to find another old engine nutter that would want the other one :-)

Yes you are right I live in Swindon, I can get all three engines into my car although it is an estate car, depends on what car you have because there will be one tank with the engines and some pipe work so I would guess the van might be best.

Hi Steve
You say these are steam engines and you show them? If yes i am happy to make an arrangement with claire and take one or two of them and she can have the genny. Pics are a bit blurry and it looks like i can see a spark plug in one of them!

They are Stationary engines, and I show them at Steam Rallies we are the people that are all around the arena who run our machines all day long and answer questions from the public. You can get into any steam rally with them except may be Dorset because there is some thing like a 5 year waiting list to get into that. Stationary engines are powered by petrol and run pumps and all manner of other types of things.
